Sun moves into 00 Cancer at 7:08 PM EST
As the Sun moves into every sign (called an Ingress chart), we are given a particular set of issues and energies to work with that are different than any other time in human history. Although we have planetary cycles that are similar, every moment in time is different than any other moment in time – just like no two (even with twins) birth charts are exactly the same.
I’ve discussed the Gemini/Saturn eclipse cycle for several months on my radio show Keep It Magic. The polarity between what we think and our beliefs has been active for some time, and with the New Moon chart that occurred yesterday we began the closing cycle of that particular energy. However, the Sun moving into Cancer provides us with an opportunity to begin to clear out the lingering energy and use the insight we received to begin to heal our lives and our minds.
When using a chart as a transformational energy tool, the Sun in the sky reveals to us what the process is that we are working through. In the case of the sign of Cancer, we are working through our emotions and our connection to others. The areas of our life that cause us to feel safe and secure (family, material security, job, and position in the world) rise to the surface and can feel threatened or challenged during this transit. Also, since the sign of Cancer reflects the uterine waters before birth, we are granted a powerful opportunity to return to the seed level of a situation, and begin to heal areas of our life that are disjointed and fragmented.
In the world chart (set for Jerusalem), the Sun falls in the 3rd house of communication and mindset. This provides us with an opportunity to heal (Cancer) our own negative viewpoints and negative circumstances that our own minds (3rd house) are creating. During this month, we may find ourselves open to other viewpoints, other ways of looking at life, and letting go of old outdated ideals that continue to be a battle field in our own heads. In addition, we can use this month to clear up old hurts and communication issues we have had over the past few months with others (especially family members). Keeping the street clean (in any relationship) is always the best policy.
The Sun makes one major aspect which is a trine to Neptune. Neptune’s most positive manifestation is our connection to a world that is much larger than us; as well as our connection to the divine. In many ways, it is the planet of redemption and provides us with the ability to purge ourselves of past hurts and past pain. Neptune rules the 12th house of self-undoing, and its trine to the Sun provides us with a powerful opportunity to release past hurts and heal behaviors that may no longer be of use to us. Also, it’s a great time to heal from addictions.
